Summer Up-cycling Project Idea - Painted Stenciled Cabinet Makeover.

Now that summer is here it's the perfect time to get your paint brushes out and start up-cycling. You can pick up some fabulous pieces of furniture from your local charity shops or completely makeover something you already have at home like an old pine chest of drawers or wardrobe that could do with a lift.  And it's so easy! With chalk paints you don't have to sand or prime your piece. How amazing is that!!  I found this piece in the charity shop where I volunteer and I love how it turned out.
Here is an 'AFTER' photo.

Below is a shot of the cabinet 'BEFORE' its' makeover.

I simply wiped the whole unit clean with detergent and then painted it inside and out with Chalk Paints from my local hardware shop.
The design on the back was simple to do as I just used a stencil to paint in the gold colour.

When I finished painting it I just applied a coat of wax over the whole piece to help protect the finish. The coat of wax is what gives it a beautiful luxurious finish as opposed to just a glossy painted look.

Below is a photo of the stencil I used.
And that's it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me on my Facebook Page Paint It White Interiors or Instagram @PaintItWhiteInteriors ..
